Flower Child

This was totally Lucy's idea - she came up with the idea to use the flowers she picked (which there were many) for hair & I love that she used the flower stems for the arms. We were talking about ovals this morning, hence the oval ears (with earrings of course).

Family Portraits

Lucy and I thought it would be fun to draw some pictures - this morphed into me drawing a basic picture of the family. Well, actually I drew 3.5 of the people. Lucy drew Georgia's body (see top picture). While I was getting dinner ready, Lucy asked if she could add some detail to the picture - see second picture for results - cracks me up. Love my "spike" fingers, the bow in Georgia's hair and Dada's jeans - not sure what happened there. Oh, and Lucy's shoes. She liked my high heels so thought she should have a pair too. Love it!

Busy Bunny

Instead of easter baskets for the adults, the EB gave tiny bunny boxes filled with Denman Island chocolates. Thanks Martha for the cute bunny box template.

The "surprise balls" are a lot of fun to make. All you need are some little presents (chocolate eggs for this one) and crepe paper. Simply wrap the crepe paper around an egg at various intervals until you have a nice sized ball (these ones are the size of a large orange). Opening the balls were almost as much fun as looking through the baskets.

Happy Easter

I don't think there is anything cuter than 4 year old art work. Love this bunny!

Beach Finds

My parents just came back from an amazing trip to Holbox, Mexico. They brought back with them an amazing selection of shells they found on the beach. Man, are they ever a hit with the girls. Georgie has spent hours taking shells out of one container, examining them and then putting them into another container. Lucy has painted a whole beach worth of shells. We couldn't find any paint brushes, so Mimi came up with the good idea to use q-tips instead. As you can see, we've painted a lot of shells! What a fun (and inexpensive) craft. Thanks Meems & Deeds!

Birthday Hats

Lucy is turning four this weekend (oh my goodness!) and we're having a wee party for her at the petting zoo and the play park. I firmly believe that every little girl at a four year old's birthday party needs to have a birthday hat to wear, so Lucy and I made some cute (and easy) cone shaped hats. Very easy to make & lots of fun to decorate. I can't wait to get all the little girls huddled together wearing their hats so I can take a picture.
